Cross Lease Converter

My favourite web design agency Graphic Detail were asked to refurbish and extend the website for CrossLease Converters, who help people navigate tricky property details. My task for the extension was a new WordPress plugin to solicit submissions by new customers. If you enter your address, the plugin interrogates the property database held by LINZ (the government agency which is tasked to hold all NZ property details). This plugin finds the ownership history, exact title number, area and the property outline in Lat Long coordinates. The plugin uses these details to build a customised legal agreement as a PDF, saving a lot of manual work by all parties.

It also shows a map of the chosen property titles via the marvelous Google Maps API.

The LINZ API lets the plugin ask questions by CURL calls in PHP. The LINZ data is quite complicated, having many inter-related datasets, so each one of our pages generally took a sequence of API calls to drill down to what was needed. I got stuck by a few puzzles along the way, and always got prompt and helpful replies from their support people.
